20,000 SF – Gut Renovation of 120 year old Historic Mansion

This historic 14-bedroom mansion, built in 1890 by Italian artisans, was once the summer residence of William Russell Grace, a two-term New York City mayor known for his pivotal role in welcoming the Statue of Liberty as a gift from France. Located on Great Neck’s prestigious Gold Coast, the mansion stands as a testament to the grandeur and craftsmanship of the Gilded Age.

Our renovation work honored the estate’s storied past while carefully adapting it to meet the demands of modern living. The project encompassed a complete gut renovation of the interiors, transforming the space while retaining its historic charm. We reimagined the floor plan to enhance flow and functionality, ensuring the mansion would serve as a livable and inviting home for future generations.

On the exterior, we undertook significant redevelopment to restore the grandeur of this estate, integrating modern materials while respecting the historic architecture. The project also included comprehensive site and garden design, where the grounds were thoughtfully landscaped to complement the home’s stately presence and provide tranquil outdoor spaces.

To complete the vision, we curated a harmonious collection of furniture, furnishings, and accessories that reflect the character of the home while embracing contemporary comfort. From the bespoke interiors to the meticulously designed gardens, this renovation celebrates the enduring elegance of this Gold Coast landmark while offering a fresh perspective on luxurious living.
